Partners in Crime
I've never wanted to get into trouble by myself--I like to have an accomplice (or, more accurately--I want to go with someone who's done this before). These are a few of the people and organizations I'm connected to.
I connected with these guys when I was working for the non-profit, Apartment Life. But even before that, I credited (blamed?) Matt and Hugh and their book "The Tangible Kingdom" for inspiring my husband and I to plant a church in Mesa, AZ. I love their heart to engage culture with the redemptive power of the gospel and their committment to equipping the church for mission.
Yes, I teach yoga. (I had to figure out some way to use my degree in Exercise Physiology.) Initially skeptical of what I feared would be hokey at best and unbiblical at worst, I quickly found practicing Christian yoga to be an important part of my emotional, physical and spiritual well- being. Yahweh Yoga is committed to nourishing the hearts of followers of Jesus and to proclaiming the name of Jesus in an industry where Christian voices are rarely heard. And I've recently recorded a soundtrack of hymns for a set of DVD's being released in early October.

On the left you can see a picture of me with our sponsored child, Ahmed. He lives in Marere, Kenya and he has a killer smile. Our family has sponsored three children over the last twelve years and we've had the joy of meeting each of them in person. I highly recommend it! I've traveled with Food for the Hungry to Peru, Indonesia and Kenya and have always loved their vision and their people (and not just because my sister worked for them).
